| Okay, so this is very hard for me to say: I think I may have to stop watching Grey's Anatomy after this season. (If you don't care, skip down, please). Why? you may ask... Well, it's because of their views on marriage. The first thing that rubbed me the wrong way was the way George described Izzy to his wife, Callie, as blond and stacked and unattainable. However, the real kicker was that after realizing what they did was wrong and unforgiveable, George and Izzy kissed in the elevator! I know I'm way too into it anyway The thing is, when you marry someone, or even if you aren't married but you are in love with someone, THEY have to be the most beautiful, the smartest, the whatever-est at least to you, if to no one else. Everyone deserves to be that in the eyes of their significant other. I think the first time I truly realized this was the way James Phillips acts towards his wife, Amanda. Even before they were married, she was always the most anything to him. I mean, sure, they're human and no one's perfect, but I just think watching them together, especially while Amanda was pregnant the first time and right after Addison was born, it really made that concept click for me. I dunno, now, even in a fictional television show, I can't find that acceptable. This may seem a little shallow, like I watch a little too much television, but it was like a realization for me of a paradigm shift that apparently happened in me awhile ago. I just don't think anything other than unconditional love is okay. Anyway, work is good, home life is great, and the kitty's claws are doing a little better since he's been on antibiotics. Hope everyone else is doing well |
